I started my tax career with the Inland Revenue in 1975. I was given some substantial training in tax matters during my time there. I also passed the first part of my tax examinations with the Institute of Tax Technicians (ATT) whilst with the Revenue.

After my training with the Revenue I left to join the profession, where I worked for various Top 10 and Top 20 City Firms. I also took my final tax examinations and qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA). I gained substantial experience across a wide range of taxation covering Personal Tax, Capital gains tax, Inheritance tax, Corporation Tax, International Tax and UK and Overseas Trusts. The vast proportion of my tax experience was gained with Howarth Clark Whitehill, a Top Ten Firm, whom I was with for 17 and a half years.

I started my own firm in June 2002 with only a handful of clients and now have a portfolio rapidly approaching 150. My clients range from a small sole trader with turnover of £10,000 to a medium sized company employing 20 employees and also a firm of builders with a turnover approaching £1 million.

In terms of other skills, I joined Bromley Speakers club in 1993 to learn the arts of communication and leadership skills. I am a past President of Bromley Speakers Club and am currently District Secretary of the UK & Ireland arm of Toastmasters International, looking after 170 speakers clubs.

My aim is to be pro-active and to provide a personal service rather than merely dealing with matters as they crop up.

I believe that my 30 years of experience spread across such a wide range of tax, not to mention my time spent with the Inland Revenue plus my communications skills give me a distinct advantage over my competitors.
